New monitor - Looking at 120hz models

    Hey guys,
Its been a while since I've kept myself up to date with monitors, so I was wondering what you guys think of the new 120hz ones and if anyone happens to have any, if they can give me some insight on the pros and cons, or maybe just some other recommendations.

I've seen this mentioned a few times as a good one but never been a fan of them since some friends have had issues with benQ.

Price isn't too much of an issue, but I don't think I can fork out for the dell 24" IPS panel, giving that I would really like to get a 120hz monitor.
Really keen on getting the Samsung 2233rz 120hz, but there are a few others that probably deserve a look!

    Requirements are:

Huge gaming usage and movie/video watching, so that needs to be picture perfect.
Clean and crisp text reproduction too.
    Dont need hdmi or displayport

    Thanks
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Guys, I'm pretty sure you cannot trade like that on open forums!

Re: New monitor - Looking at 120hz models

I was also just thinking about whether or not I want to have a full 1080p resolution.

I don't have nor do I see myself getting any 1080p content to watch. My games wouldn't run in 1080 either without completely killing my PC, so it seems the most logical and practical to have a max res of 1680x1050.

Unless someone can maybe fill in some points I'm overlooking?

PS. No I do not have a console, nor will I be getting one in the future.

Re: New monitor - Looking at 120hz models

the 1080 acer is much better in 3d but much worse in 2d than the samsung. Its also more expensive. I have to say I haven't noticed a huge performance drop as 3d is quite demanding anyway. Might be the gtx 480 I'm running though which is made for high res, 3d etc.
