    Faulty 4890 work in crossfire?

I've recently acquired a faulty sapphire 4890, it seems to work fine apart from no picture so it got me thinking will it work in crossfire if i use the other card as the output?

I'll know the answer soon enough when my other sapphire 4890 arrives but what do you guys think? and any advice on how to use crossfire as I'm new to it.

I doubt it, how does it work 'fine' apart from no picture, it's a graphics card??..

hm that would make all the more reason to buy a faulty second card which just displays no picture!

Re: Faulty 4890 work in crossfire?

Depends on what the fault is, if someone has just managed to up the outputs, normally by putting sideways pressure on the cables when plugged in, then it sould work fine in crossfire.

AFAIK Plug the two cards in, connect with the crossfire bridge and then just turn it on in the driver options.
At least that's all it took to get sli running
You then have the issue of trying to tailor the driver profile & settings for each game.

The main time I've hit serious issues has been on older games, eg I've been replaying Chrome (game not browser) took a while to get it running correctly at 1680x1050 but I just cannot get it to play nicely with sli

Re: Faulty 4890 work in crossfire?

It didn't work, system wouldn't load windows but I'm not complaining as it gives me more headroom to overclock my new 4890 (psu limitations)
