i'm guessing its a voodoo 5500? the pictures dead here tho :(
fixed :D
heh, they really are huuge bastards arent they? about a foot long.. crazy stuff :) shame its worth next to nothing these days :(
Not to fused about its value, just like having a working peice of graphics history :D
Bet that cost a fair few £££ when new.
Got it cheap second hand a while back :D
And people mocked 3DFX back then for needing a Molex connector on the card
I had one of those!
It used to run MOHAA quite nicely.
Sold mine on Ebay for quite a bit more than I paid for it 2 years ago
What did you get for it?
I had a 3dfx card, don't know what one it was i'd forgotten but it had 3 GPU's i cut one off and it's now on my keyring as a piece of graphic card history.
I had one also, amazing piece of equipment for its time. Its a shame they went to the wall as the Voodoo 6000/6500 would have been one hell of a card. Its also a shame they got bought up by Nvidia and then totally raped! :(
I remember when I had the Voodoo 2 in SLI config, 24MB of memory, running Quake 2 in 1024 x 768 was sweet. Sold them both for £30 each, was a fraction of what I paid, was about £150 each I think!
I remember PCWorld sold the MAC PCI version of the 5500 at a knockdown £50 ( whilst card was still worth around £130) and then people finding they could flash them to work in a PC
What do you mean "still" works? I'm still using the nvidia equivilent from the time!
I really want a Orchid Righteous 3DFX Voodoo I card again, this was the first ever 3D card that I ever paid for.
£175 it cost me, I couldn't wait until I could get it home and install it.
I stared in awe when I first booted my pc up again :D:D:D:D:D
Those were the days....
