.... my god. I have used 24" LCDs before but never a Dell, its just a huge step up from any LCD I have ever used before. Its the 2407wfp-HC and its stunning!
Time to ditch the 2 x 22" Samsungs at home I think!

ahh yes it's one of the S-PVA panels, they are supposed to be able to reproduce a very high colour range, and still have better viewing angles than a TN panel.
They are EOL AFAIK so tring to get hold of them is near impossible now.
They have been replaced buy the £200 ST2410 TN panel, so not as good colour or viewing angles and the £585 U2410, IPS Panel so good colour and even better viewing angles but the cost :(
Yes, it’s nice for everything except games. It replaced my 20” Samsung at the time and I agree, it was a notable improvement over the previous screen. In games (very noticeable in WoW) it can suffer from inverse-ghosting. If you Google it I’m sure you’ll find suitable links.
I accidentally scratched mine along the bottom and right side (about 10-15cm long but millimetres from the edges) using a crappy duster (insert lots of swearing). I tried to live with it for a few months but it drove me buts so replaced it with the Dell 3008. Got to say, it was worth it in the end, the 3008 is a notably superior monitor.
Since it’s hard to sell any monitor with a scratch I gave it to a mate. Haven’t heard any complaints from him though :).
The 2408 update corrected the inverse-ghosting problem I mentioned above and improved in several areas. Quite a well regarded model if I recall correctly. I think the current model is the U2410 but not sure if it’s better or worse.
Recommended the U2410 to a friend - IPS panel i believe and TFT central looked favourably upon it.
i have the ST2410 its a really nice panel for a tn cant grumble at all.
Nice. And you especially cant grumble seeing as work have presumably given it to you for free :) Just revel in the screen real estate - dead useful for graphic design and coding.
I have so got to get 2 of these for home.
BenQ just released a press release on a new series of LED backlit VA panel monitors. It's definitely worth waiting and checking out ;)
