    Dual monitors

I have a duel monitor setup (WinXP) and was wondering what i can do with it.
I find it quite handy to put my emails, IRC, winamp & sometimes vidz on the 2nd monitor whilst using the primary one for browsin. work & games.
Is there a way to access the 2nd monitor whilst playing a game? I would like to know what else i can do.

Buy Ultramon and say hello Mr Taskbar.

Best dual display software there is. I've never tried gaming and jumping to the other, not sure it'l work too great (alt+tab method).

Yeah - I have ultramon, the 2nd taskbar is useful but the dual backdrop thing is great (esp as I use two different resolutiuons).

Does it integrate with the windows shell, this Ultramon? I ask because I have dual monitors, but run astonshell, not explorer, so it might not work with it.

Still, aston2 will have better dually monitor support (so they claim.)

I currently stick e-mails and MSN conversations on my secondary monitor.

Kez ,after having a look around mate it appears that is does work with the aston shell...but thre are a few hiccups with the taskbar appearence. Still works though.

    :

    Bug fixes in 2.5
    • Custom menu commands may not be available when task grouping is enabled
If task grouping is enabled for the Windows taskbar, and 2 or more tasks have been grouped into a single task button, when right-clicking a task from the group of tasks the custom menu commands added by UltraMon may not be available.

    • Applications missing from taskbar when connecting to system via Remote Desktop

    • Smart Taskbar doesn't work with Aston Shell

    so should be fine

In return - whats the aston shell and whys it so good?

    cheers, F

www.astonshell.com - it's a replacement for explorer.exe (bar the file management part) that doesn't crash, and is a lot more flexible. It takes a lot of tweaking to get it how you want - but I'm the sort of person who likes doing stuff like that.
