    XFX 4890 2x6 pin PCI-E

Hello all could someone just clear up a problem for me. I recently bought a radeon 4890 with a complete new build but I've never used pci-e card before. The card has arrived and on checking it has 2x6 pin PCI-E and the leaflet says i must use 2 seperate power cables for each 6pin plug, problem being my new power supply only has 1x6 pin PCI-E. The card came with 2 leads looks like 3 pin molex to 6pin pci-e ?. Should i just connect 1 of these leads to the power supply molex to convert it to pci-e 6 pin lol.

I prob sound like a total muppet but i don't want to blow it up before i even use it

    Re: XFX 4890 2x6 pin PCI-E

It should be 4pin molex to 6 pin PCI-E; in which case it will work fine. You should try to get a new power supply with 2x PCI-E cables in the future though

I've just bought a brand new power supply for £45 but it only has the 1 connector i do have 2 convertors with the card though.

Yup, just connect the card via molex-to-PCIe adapter (ofc plug in all the molex connectors ).
