    Retail HD6850 first pictures

It seems to have a much shorter PCB than the HD6870 1GB:

    http://tech.sina.com.cn/h/2010-10-16/06171529120.shtml

It will be interesting to see how long this card is when compared to the HD5770,HD5850 and GTX460.

    Edit!!

    The HD6850 1GB is shorter than an HD5850 1GB.

It seems the HD6850 has 800 stream processors and the HD6870 has 960 stream processors.

I do wish ati would sort out their outputs better so they could use cooler that vents hot air out of the back of the case.

These will be nice for my HTPC, will replace the HD5870, it's more powerful yes but I need something a bit shorter and not hoggin up my case space!

Sorry to break it to you, but a 6850 won't be faster than a 5870, at least according to the preliminary benchmarks.

I think he was referring to the 5870 being faster, but just wanted a shorter card with comparable performance?

    Re: Retail HD6850 first pictures

Guys any ideas as to which has the better cooling solution out of all the board partners? The 6870 fan seems to be so small compared to its size yet the benchmark shows it cooling eficacy is on par and better than the 6850.
