    Samsung Monitor Help

I was just about to head inside tonight and I saw a pile of rubbish for the binman to collect. Something caught my eye - a nice big 24" Samsung flatscreen monitor!

The screen was intact and it looked in good condition, so I grabbed it and ran upstairs to try it with my rig.

I plugged it and all I get is the power light flashing blue on and off. Just wondering if there is anyway I can fix this and get a free monitor out of it?

Someone once told me never to open up a monitor due to the charge that can be stored inside one. Not sure if this is true but I'm a little wary about it.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated

Is it a CRT flat screen or a an LCD? I might be able to get hold of a service manual if you get the model number

I would want to consider getting the main PCB out of it, separating it from anything plastic, and trying the oven trick on it.

It's an LCD. The model is 225BW.

    What's the oven trick?
