I spent £99 grabbing a Guillemot V1 with the 50ns EDO memory, the fastest V1 on the market at the time.

I fed it to my P166MMX with 64MB and I don't think I left my bedroom for weeks, GLQuake was simply awesome. Uni work definitely suffered in 1996 because of 3dfx

    Happy days.

I remember the voodoo1 magazine advert. A before and after picture of lara croft... i was like OMG her boobs ARN'T triangles anymore! This was back in the day when i was reading PC Gamer and forcing my dad to get a decent pc instead of me being stuck with the 486 and amiga! Then he got a P200MMX, 64Mb and the world of PCs was opened to me!

    Half-Life + Voodoo 3 + OpenGL Miniport = 99fps

The Voodoo 3 is the only card I've ever bought that actually exeeded my expectations.

I can remember my 2 Voodoo 2's in SLI mode. Made HL run like a dream

as above Voodoo3 was the daddeh of its time. i remember being the only person at my school who could play quake3 @ 1280 at a playable framerate.

still got my V3 3000AGP, although it now powers my parents oversized paperweight

My Matrox Mystique 2Mb card was quite good for the games bundled with it - Moto Cross and Tomb Raider I think - but when paired up with the Diamond Monster 3D I was amazed at the "blurring" effect in Quake

I went up through the Voodoo2 and Voodoo3 3000 range too, before going into the nVidia range, starting at the GeForce2 MX 32Mb - who on Earth could need that much memory on a graphics card?

The Voodoo 1's certainly had the 'wow' factor when they came out. I was on a P200MMX with a 4 meg Matrox Mystique and an Orchid Rightous Voodoo card ... PC gaming would never be the same once you saw Quake in open GL

    Ahh vooodoooooo

I forked out hundreds for twin Voodoo 2's specifically to run in SLI mode... imagine how gutted I was when I found out my monitor DIDN'T support 1024x768!!!

Currently have a Vodoo3 2000 and 3000, I don't particually love 3DFX since I got into computers too late for them. But those 2 cards where no slouches.

I had a voodoo 1, a voodoo 2 and a voodoo 3000... they were ace until me GeForce 2 card slapped it... although finding drivers was difficult sometimes... it was worth it in the end
