AMD Confirms: Radeon HD 6900 to Launch December 13th, 2010

As we all probably know, AMD's Cayman GPU was supposed to be released this week. However, AMD's partners sent us warning signals during October and early November that the launch was unlikely to happen due to abysmal state of samples, with some partners receiving nothing more than bare-naked silicon. No BIOS, no drivers all caused a lot of dissatisfaction.

Could this be a missed oppertunity on ATI's (not going to call them AMD just yet) part or is a month not going to make much difference?

Now, I am considering the 6870, do you think it will be affected by this launch? IE. Price drops?
Re: AMD Confirms: Radeon HD 6900 to Launch December 13th, 2010
No the 69xx are going to be the replacement for the high end 5850, 5870 and 5970 it's these cards that will probably come down in cost.

This makes me feel better about the GTX 580 that's arriving tomorrow :D
Re: AMD Confirms: Radeon HD 6900 to Launch December 13th, 2010
just hope the new top end 69xx isn't faster ;)

Meh tbh not bothered if it is, I wanted something shiny now and the GTX 580 is the fastest single GPU card around, I am not loyal to any brand this is a upgrade from a ATI card :), if its faster then its faster, cant imagine it will be more than 5 - 10% faster :)
