Hi all,
I am looking for a Graphics card which
- Can support 6 monitors
- Is PCI-E
- Does not need a PCI-E power from the PSU
Any recommendations?
Thanks.

I don't know of any, sorry. You can usually go to 6 monitors with cards using a 6pin connector, or 3 monitors for those without.
The HD5870 2GB Eyefinity 6 can run six monitors:

However,it is not bus powered!!
TBH,just get a pair of HD5450 cards. However, two of the monitors need to use DisplayPort or at least you will have to buy converters if you don't have any monitors with DisplayPort.
I am planning to use it in a Lenovo i7 Desktop ( not mine! ) which just has
PCIE x16 X1
PCIE x1 X1
PCI X2
Any solution is going to be expensive TBH.
You could get a pair of these:

However,it would be over £400. This means you could use a bus powered card still.
There are specialist cards made by Matrix but they are very expensive too.
The Matrox M9188 will support up 8 monitors but is well over a £1000:

TBH, to have a computer which supports six displays means people need to think things through a bit before just buying a PC.

This is actually for work
At the moment, we use QUADRO NVS 450 PCIEx16 which has 4 x outputs + QUADRO NVS 295 PCIEx1 which has 2 outputs.
Looking to cut down on costs as these cards cost about £500 in total.
I think I have found a solution....
HD4350!
PCIEx16 HD4350 + Club3D PCIEx1 HD4350 / Club3D PCI HD4350
Question is can I have two graphics cards and use them both to power 6 monitors?
no. 4350s will only power two monitors each.
AFAIK there's no bus-powered card that will run more than 3 monitors. Scan have a sapphire 5770 in at the minute that will run 4 monitors, and there are also some Eyefinity 5 version of the 5770 that will run 5 monitors through mini-dp, but you'd need native dp monitors or lots of active dongles. Note that most 5450 / 55x0 cards don't have a displayport output (they tend to be DVI / HDMI / VGA) so they won't run 3 monitors either. And I don't anticipate anyone releasing a PCIe x1 5670 in the near future...
I see. Thanks for that.
The Sapphire HD5770 does seem to power 4 monitors.
PowerColor's HD5770 supports 5 monitors but need a PCIE power
Well, end of class. Thanks everyone for taking part. I do hope both NVIDIA and AMD release cheap version cards that can support 6 monitors.
EDIT : Sapphire one needs a PCIE power as well!!!

only 6 how about 8 or 16 if you buy 2
http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/pr.../m9188pciex16/
only problem is there 1300 quid each![]()
It also only powers 3 monitors: at least, the one you pictured does. "Normal" 5-series Radeons can power any 2 out of the DVIs and HDMI, plus the DP, for three monitors. It's only the special Sapphire 5770 FleX that can run 4 monitors (four monitors - one card!). Unfortunately, it looks rather like most of AMD's 6 series are going to be rebadged 5 series cards, so we'll be waiting until at *least* the 7 series before we get bus powered multihead cards, I think...

Blurb says that you need multiple cards to support 8 monitors. I questioned this in the thread, and apparently NV are being rather coy about how many monitors a single card can power, and it may well only actually support 2 monitors (possibly more with DP daisy-chaining, though).
bit of a bump on this thread, but you might be interested in something I've just come across on ebuyer: this Sapphire HD5450 has DVI, VGA and Displayport connections, so if you add a Sapphire Eyefinity DP adaptor you can power 2 DVI and one VGA monitor off the card, which makes it the first bus powered 3 screen consumer graphics card I've seen...
This should work...
