    ATI's Radeon X800 PRO

    It may pay to see what NVIDIA have to offer in the same price range and we'll be evaluating 6800GT performance in the near future, but in isolation against the ATI products that sit above and below it, the X800 PRO is highly recommended if you have the money to spend.

    I'm still annoyed by the fact that it is tested on a 64bit system. I'm sure people like reviews where they can say "oh, if that card were in my system it would get this". Otherwise we can only imagine what we might get.

    Why test is on a 64-bit system when 32-bit is most common?

    Note that the software used includes Windows XP w/sp1 - that'll be the 32bit version unless I'm mistaken.

    Therefore it doesn't matter that the CPU is 64bit - the thing cannot possibly be running in 64bit mode without a 64bit OS.

    I'll give the review a read a bit later.

    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Its a fast card and no doubting that, thing is now that CPU's and GFX cards are so stupidly fast isnt it about time manu's brought the rest of the system upto the same speeds....?

    Yep and its about time we got some games that actually make use of most of our system specs. With the exception of farcry there isnt really anything to challenge the current hardware let alone the next gen cards.

    Its tested in 32bit mode, what i find amusing is that the X800PRO is cheaper then the 9800XT, i cant imagine for very long though.

    It is an ES - thus a crippled XT so it wouldn't be a fair test

    I've been so tempted to buy one!!

    They have them IN-STOCK and ready to ship at Newegg.com and Gameve.com 2 places that I've bought from in the past.

    Then yesterday I walked in to CompUSA and they had a stack of X800 Pro boxes!!! So I was thinking... no waiting for it to come in the mail. The temptation of bringing it home with me was too great. So I picked it up!! AND IT WAS VERY LIGHT... come to find out, it was a pre-order box with a T-shirt in it.

    My finger is on the trigger, I mean mouse, I'm ' ' this close to buying it.
