Not sure if this is in the right place so apologies if not.
I’m looking at building myself a new PC and am interested in the benefits of going sli using x2 GTX 460s
Having never done an SLI machine before I’m wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of something that might be a good point of reference. I’ve done a quick scan about these forums but cannot find anything regarding benefits or what’s involved.

is a good read as are the comments on the thread itself. The majority opinion from what I gather is that SLI potentially delivers more performance for the price than single cards do but you are at the mercy of driver updates for games in order for it to run correctly.
Also you usually have a higher power draw with sli, as well as potential heat and noise issues compared to the single cards.
Thanks for the info Planet436, Ive had a good look at it, if anything its made me want to plough the money I would have spent on 2 mid range cards into a single card instead.
