What would you pay for a HD 5850!?
Right, considering the main difference between the Hd 6000 series and Hd 5000 series seems to essentially be a die shrink with a bit of tesselation performance put in for good measure (as far as I am aware ... probably wrong :( ). What would you pay for a HD 5850 considering it should be ample for nearly all current and upcoming titles on 1920x1080.
Also what about the HD 58070 as while?

Well the GTX460 is around £120-150 so I would say in that price range for the 5850 is fair, and around £180 for a 5870

£1.50 and not a penny more!!:p
More seriously the HD6850 1GB and HD6870 1GB are somewhat overprice ATM and are tracking the price of the GTX460 1GB.
Once the GTX560 is released the HD6870 1GB may drop down to around £150 IMHO.
The HD5850 1GB could be had for around £125 at Scan and OcUK a few weeks ago.
The HD6580 1GB is quite close to the performance of an HD5850 1GB though:

So I would probably say that £140 is the maximum I would pay for an HD5850 1GB ATM.
Re: What would you pay for a HD 5850!?
TBH i actually dont mind paying and extra £20 for the 6850, I am guessing you would like to see it at £130 sure who wont want something to be as cheap as possible but it doesnt hurt paying £20 more for the 6850, and yes if there was a 5850 for 125 pounds today i would get it, if it was a twin frozr or cu core otherwise no i wont
Re: What would you pay for a HD 5850!?
Hopefully when the GTX560 comes out the HD6850 1GB and HD6870 1GB will drop in price!
The HD6850 1GB could be had for around £130 to £135 at launch on Scan.
