too risky I think..if it can be fixed I am sure that person will have SOMEONE to fix and then sell for proper price and not extremely cheap..therefore I think there has to be something major wrong with it.
but at the end of the day its your money and your call.
Could they not just RMA it?
HOw much exactly does he/she want? If its a small amount that u can afford to loose then its probably worth the risk, otherwise try to find out as much as u can about it be4 u buy

£70, he bought another one (rich gid), i serach on google for similar problems, and some people changed heat sink and problems gone!!!
Hmm, if it is just a case of the heatsync then it would seem to be a brilliant deal. Try and find out more aobut it, like do the line appear after a set period of use? (would suggest heating up) or right from the start. Also does it happen with al gams or jsut one or 2? try getting him to perform some other graphics intensive things and see if the same problems occur.

well i dont know him for long, just met, he has that lines come up more on some games and less on others. i was thinking it might be his computer. can i sent to sapphire for repair!!!
How old is it? does he still have receipt, invoice etc? If its still under warranty why didn't he send it back? Usualy if its been modified in any way then the warranty is void because they jsut claim that your "mod" broke it. I smell a rat tbh...
at £70 id say its a no go m8 ,even if it is just a dodgy fan thats let it get warm it will probably have caused permanent damage already , if it can be rma'd then yes get it
£70 ?
no way !
Save your £70. Wait a bit till x800's and 6800's get into the market. Add a few quid to your saved £70 and get a 9800 pro (and o/c it). imho.
£70 is not worth the risk- tell him its worthless and he'l come back to you with a new price- £20 is too much of a risk imo
