Need a new monitor, been out of the game!

last monitor i purchased was a Dell 2407WFP, sold that a year or so ago as i started using my laptop for games and films etc. What is the equivelent make/model now? At the time the 2407 was perceived to be one of the best, especially for games.

    Budget??

I assume you want to stay with a 24" monitor??

Does it need to be colour accurate?

If you don't mind going for a slightly smaller monitor you can get the 23" Dell U2311H for under £200:

It uses an e-IPS panel. However it is a 16:9 ratio monitor unlike the Dell 2407WFP.

If you don't mind going for lower colour accuracy then the 24" BenQ XL2410T which has a TN panel is worth considering.

Yes, prefer to stick with 24" as its just right for viewing distance etc. I play FPS games so speed is more of a consideration but i love to watch films so need some kind of compromise. Budget is less than £200 if possible. I will have a look at the BenQ, thanks.

The BenQ is over £250 and any 24" monitors under £200 will use TN panels. The Dell 2407WFP used either an S-PVA or S-IPS panel.

    Edit!!

There is the is also the BenQ EW2420 which uses a A-MVA panel for under£200:

However, the Dell U2311H is a better monitor and the EW2420 does have a few quirks it seems:

The Benq BL2400PT uses the same panel and has a much better stand and you can turn the monitor through 90 degrees if you want.
PCPro didn't seem to like it as its default colour settings aren't the best, but admitted that if you set them yourself it's a fantastic picture.
I've got one and am very pleased with it, so it's worth a look.
    Can you just............................?
