Hey again. Well, I am gona get a Rad 9800 Pro Vid Card. Good Idea? If so, what kinds are better then others? Oh I also was told they are very unstable and "the devil". Is that true? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You were told the biggest load of BS ever. Loads of people, including myself have 9800pro's and they are still beasty cards that give very good frame rates in games. Im extremely pleased with mine, as with everything; install it correctly and itll be fine.

They are probably one of the best "budget" cards out atm - £130ish will get you one now and they arent that much slower than the XTs.

PS: Love the av! Bebop rocks
I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!

I have a Connect one, runs at just over XT clocks with the addition of a cheap Arctic cooler and has been for quite some time.

Used to be true of ATI cards in general up until the 8xxx series, they are fine now - not quite up to nvidias standards interms of compatability and stability - but they have better performance and value for ££ so we put up with them =)

brand isnt a concern really- as all the manafacturers stick to ati's ref design when producing their 9800pro boards. Any performnce difference would be minimal. Go for the cheapest- if you can pick up one direct from ati you may get one with the xt r360 core like me

i agree with steve that brand isn't a big concern..however if u r into overclocking, u might wanna pick one that has faster RAM or at least proven to be more oveclockable..one step further, u might wanna get one that can be flashed with 9800XT bios for increased performance..i'm no expert in this area but i know this has been done..head up to Rage3D forum for more info..hope this helps
