Question Graphics card advice please sli or single?

Currently just upgraded to i7 2600k@4.5GHz , 8 GB Ram , using my old gtx 260's sli , wanting to upgrade the GFX cards.

Monitor 27" 1920x1080 no upgrading this in the future till it busts!

Interested in gtx 560 ti sli or maybe GTX 580

What do you guys think of 1GB VRAM? For the next couple of years? Enough memory for future game textures?

Maybe GTX 560 ti sli, but the PALIT 2GB version?

Or just a plain GTX 580?

Price wise , they are near enough...advice please!

i'd go for the single card as it will run the same speed on all games were as some sli doesn't work or is badly optimised also less power draw.

I think one good card is always gonna be better than two.

I only went CF because it was a cheaper upgrade option at the time. I'd start at a single card, then you can always go x2 as an option later.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

Re: Graphics card advice please sli or single?

At 1080p a single GTX560 should be enough. but if you can afford it there's no reason not to buy a GTX580, I guess

Of course, the ATI 6990 has just been launched...
