AMD 760G chipset fit screen
Hi all
I've just got a new setup that includes an AMD 760G chipset. I've got my Panasonic TV hooked up to the onboard DVI connector and the resolution set to 1920x1080. However, there are black bars along the top, bottom and left and right hand edges of the screen (basically, the picture isn't fitting the screen). The text is also spidery and unpleasant to look at! I've hunted high and low in the settings to find an option to make this fit the screen, but no luck. I have the latest ATI driver installed.
Can anyone tell me how to make the image fit the screen?
Many thanks
Michael.
Re: AMD 760G chipset fit screen
Any tips in the TV's manual as to what resolutions the TV supports via the PC input? They can be a bit fussy/unusual as to what they actually support.

It's a Panasonic plasma full HD TV and it was working perfectly with 1080p selected when using an nVidia graphics card. It's just this onboard Radeon 3000 that when 1080p is selected, doesn't fill the screen and looks slightly blurry.

I'm guess we can rule out bad behaviour on the TV's front then. Is it the same refresh rate, could be a 50Hz vs 60Hz issue?
Out of interest does the TV have a DVI socket or are you using an adapter (cable) to connect to hdmi?

Hi it's a DVI to HDMI cable (worked no problems for more than a year now!). The current refresh rate is sitting at 50hz, which I believe is correct for my TV, and the only other option I can select is 49hz, which doesn't work.

I had this issue; the solution is somewhere in catalyst control centre, can't remember quite where but I think the option of "scaling" should be set to 0.

Brilliant thanks! It was an overscan setting where the slider was set half way. Just glancing at it it looked like to 0 setting would be the one in the middle but actually needed sliding to the far right for 0.
