    GeForce GTX 590

I've looked around but can't find anything about this, so apologies if there's a thread for it already. Anyway, I was looking at the possibility of getting a GTX 590 sometime soon for a new build, but I'm getting put off by what I have read about them so far, with people complaining about blown cards. Got sent this by a mate Has anyone got one? Anyone got any experience with the card?

    Re: GeForce GTX 590

why would you even think about getting this card?

even if it would be rock solid the crap performance is just disappointing, also if you look at the price...it fails to deliver in every aspect imo.

    Re: GeForce GTX 590

I have only recently looked into this card as a possibility, I didn't realise is was seen as such a poor card, plus with whats happening with them blowing up. Have you had one yourself, or are you going off what you see in reviews etc? What other graphics card(s) would you recommend? Cheaper the better obviously, but don't want to sacrifice the system just for a cheap card.

They blow if you over volt them.

The card is not that bad. Quieter than the 6990. I would consider dual GPU setups instead.

I had the chance to play a bit with an XFX 6990 (in a 800D) and I must say it's a lot quieter than my 6950s were with air cooling.

I think it's not possible to hear the difference compared to a single 69xx card.

    Re: GeForce GTX 590

I would rather get 2 460's and save some money. They shouldn't be too much hotter ad it is only £150 for an EVGA SSC version

    Re: GeForce GTX 590

I believe the overvolting was by certain board partners not a problem with the card itself if I remember correctly it was just Asus cards that had the problem due to changes made in their BIOS
