Smile Which card 480 or 570?

Few questions I need help on I was going to buy a Nvidia GTX480 KFA2 from Scan but they no longer have it listed so stuck again.

Which would be the better card I'm not to much worried about noise but stability is a must it's a upgrade for BF3 while I have some spare cash.

    Or
    EVGA GeForce GTX 570 1280MB

Also will this be fine with my 650 watt PSU I have now my system isn't overclocked all is at stock for the moment or any other cards I should be looking at £250 is my max kinda I wish to spend cheers

    Gtx 570.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Re: Which card 480 or 570?

The EVGA GeForce GTX 570 has a 36 month warranty for £258.68, while the Gainward GeForce GTX 480 has a 24 month warranty for £193.78, a difference of £64.90.

I think I would go for the EVGA, as I have had good experiences with this company (that is not to say that Gainward is lesser, just that I have no experience with their products).

570, hands down. It's Fermi, only without the nuclear power consumption. Also, given the choice, I'd choose EVGA. They have the best warranty and confidence in their QA process.

You'll probably make up the difference in price if you buy the 570 with your reduced energy bills...

Re: Which card 480 or 570?

if for me to choose i will get a gtx480 superclocked version from gigabyte. when overclocked it can match a gtx 580, the only problem is that it generates quite a lot of heat and less energy efficient, it can be had for abit over £200.

Re: Which card 480 or 570?

If you can find the gigabyte special edition of the 480, I would advise getting that - it's is the superoverclocked cooler on a non-clocked card (although you can do this yourself if you want). I found the reduced noise and heat from reference great. However, after being in a household with three 480's (at uni) I would suggest that unless you can find that specific one, the 570 will give you much better value (the SE gigabyte is great, but 480's overall don't compare as 570 is a direct replacement more-or-less)

Re: Which card 480 or 570?

The 570 can overclock higher than the 480, so I'd go with that.

Whatever you choose, thye are all great cards. I've got 2 GTX 480's and they overclock LOVELY and they are not THAT much different power wise to the 570

The TDP of the 570 is 219W, whereas the 480 is 250W, so electrical power savings are pretty negligible.... especially if you then water cool it as I believe they were meant to be run...
