PC Specs for multi-monitor
Hi
Im buying a computer for multi-tasking doing things like web designing, photo editing, etc using high end programs like photoshop, dreamweaver, etc. I will be running a triple monitor setup so need high specs, also i will be gaming on 3 monitors.
I just want to know weather or not these specs will be up to what i need, mainly its the motherboard im just a bit concerened about
CPU: Intel® Core™i7-2600k Quad Core (3.40GHz, 8MB Cache) + HD Graphics
M-board: ASUS® P8P67 PRO (NEW REV 3.0): USB 3.0/SATA 6Gb/s, CrossFireX™ & SLI
RAM: 16GB SAMSUNG DDR3 DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (4 X 4GB)
GPU: 2 x 2GB AMD RADEON™ HD6950 - 2 DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable
Memory: 1.5TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD1502FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)
PSU: CORSAIR 850W TX SERIES (TX850) 80+ ULTRA QUIET PSU
I was told by someone that i should just get intel i5 2500k 6mb cache processer as itl be same performance wise on gaming but will this be the case for general multi-tasking??
Im buying it from a site were you customise setting (pc specialist) so just want to make sure its all ok
Re: PC Specs for multi-monitor
I doubt you would see much difference in the CPUs.
Also, you might want to talk to someone with CF 6950s to see how well Photoshop handles them for hardware acceleration.
If you spending this amount of cash, I would suggest an SSD or two, especially if your main use of the rig is the business side of things.
Re: PC Specs for multi-monitor
thanks for reply, dunno about adding ssd because its really expensive. What would I gain from having it?
Re: PC Specs for multi-monitor
I would wait until AMD Bulldozer is released next month. It should be more competitive than current AMD offerings and will this will hopefully mean lower prices! :)
AFAIK,the 8 core Bulldozer processors should be around the same price as a Core I7 2600K.
