    Question 1920 x 1200 max thru DVI-D on LGA 1155?

Hi, the maximum resolution an LGA 1155 motherboard will output through the onboard DVI-D appears to be 1920x1200. My monitor is 2048x1152 so am I right in saying this means I can't use the Sandy Bridge IGP and have to go the dedicated GPU route? Cheers.

Are you sure thats a limitation of sandy bridge or do you just need a dual link DVI cable?

I've never had any trouble running a whole variety of rigs at 2048x1152. Can't imagine Sandy Bridge suddenly went backwards :/

    Re: 1920 x 1200 max thru DVI-D on LGA 1155?

If I'm wrong then that's great news, but I was going on the information on all the mobo manufacturer's websites. Look at any motherboard manufacturer's website at their LGA 1155 specs and you'll see something like 'Supports DVI with max. resolution 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz'.

So snootyjim, you're using the onboard IGP of a sandy bridge CPU (i.e. HD 2000/3000, not a sperate graphics card) via a dual link DVI to get 2048 x 1152?

    Re: 1920 x 1200 max thru DVI-D on LGA 1155?

Take you pick - ANY LGA 1155 that I looked said the same.

For example - go to ASUS website and look at specs for the P8H61-M EVO. I've done the same with Gigabyte etc etc. All say the same: DVI max is 1920 x 1200. Maybe I'm missing the point and what they mean is only a limitation with a single link DVI?????

No, I've not used Sandy Bridge - that's why I said "I can't imagine it's gone backwards". I've never been unable to use a machine's integrated graphics with my 2048x1152 panel.

SL on DVI won't do more than 1080p, you need DL which goes upto 2,048×1,536 @ 75Hz or 1080p@85Hz.
