Confused on which GPU

Hi, I am building a PC, which i have not done in a very long time.

I have everything apart from the GPU as i am a bit confused on which one to get and hoping someone can help.

Part i have are

Haf X Case
700w PSU
P8P67 M/B
i5 2500K
H60 Cooler
8GB RAM vengeance
64GB M4 SSD

I am going to be using my LG 47" LED 3DTV as the main display. Be playing FPS games like BF2BC, BF3, and some Shogan 2.

I would like the settings to be on high and still smooth, which card would people reconmend?

Has to be one of the newer models that do 3d then, if you want to use your 3d tv, i think NVidia have the complete no nonsense package on that side of things from what i've been reading recently

Budget from £200-250 if poss, or its credit card job if higher.

My TV is LG LX9900.

Would there be any problems with using a TV as the primary display?

AFAIK,BFBC2 is an AMD sponsored game so I suspect Battlefield 3 will be the same. Battlefield 3 will support 3D on both AMD and Nvidia GPUs:

I would look at getting an HD6970 2GB or a GTX570. If you want to save some money I would get a reference HD6950 2GB and unlock the shaders.

GTX570 just for simplicity.

I have tried iz3d and DDD and hated them compared to 3DVision. You need to pay extra to enable stereoscopic 3D gaming though, about $30 iirc.

I wouldn't want to go any further down the performance charts either, the GTX460 in my HTPC is starting to show it limitations when gaming in stereoscopic.

If i go for a GTX570 is it worth going for a overclocked/superclocked card like MSI 1280MB GeForce GTX 570 Twin Frozr II/OC?

I have never really bothered in the past, most will do those overclocks anyway. The main exception was my GTX460, but that was mainly for the super quiet windforce cooler.

The Gigabyte 570 OC has the same design cooler but triple fan, I would expect it to be a very quiet and overclock well, supposedly gigabyte have a binning scheme which means the oc and soc gpus are tested to be the better ones from the batches they receive.

I'd go for an ati 6970 but an nvidia 570 is equally as good. Depends on what you prefer.
