    Recommend a 'budget' monitor...

I'm looking for a low cost monitor suitable for gaming (22, 23 or 24" in size) which must have the following since it'll be used for my PC, PS3 and Xbox 360:

    * DVI, HDMI ports (not fussed about a VGA port, although most monitors have them anyway)
    * 5ms or less response time (i've also heard some 8ms screens don't have any apparent ghosting)
    * Audio in and audio out jacks for connecting PC audio and external speakers

I've seen a few good monitors but they either lack an audio in/audio-out port (i assume a headphone port will be suitable for hooking up external speakers?) or have ghosting issues. Also the lower the power consumption the better (LED would be great )

Ideally i don't want to spend more than £200.

    Cheers!

it is not a led monitor but in reality most led monitor are backlight led, lcd monitors generate better picture quality, only use abit more electricity then led monitors.

Nice monitor, but it doesn't have an audio input port for the PC (this means no sound through external speakers when using DVI or VGA ports). I plan on having external speakers plugged into the monitor so my PC and consoles can use them. The audio output port on this montitor is only for HDMI devices (my PC will be hooked up via DVI)... It's a nice screen nonetheless.

The screen i'm using at the moment is LED backlit and the power consumption is rated at a whopping 65W! Thats more than most CCFL backlit LCD screens of the same size or bigger! My screen is a 23" Acer AT2326ML and it's not that great for PC use (it's a TV/monitor combo)... The built in speakers are rubbish and the headphone/audio out port seems to reduce the sound quality when i use external speakers

Viewsonic monitor is what you are after mate for your price range, just check the reviews for everything and you'll be fine, using a Viewsonic for the last 3 years no problems at all.

Yeah i'm leaning towards the 24" 'Viewsonic VX2439WM' LCD screen... Viewsonic don't seem to have any LED screens with both DVI and HDMI ports in my price range (not that i can see anyway). The other ones i'm looking at are the 24" Dell ST2420L, 23" LG W2363D and the 24" Iiyama Prolite E2473HDS-B1 (all these screens are under £200 and have all the ports i require).

Edit: The Asus VE247H also seems like a good candidate

The 22" LG W2261VP Black on Scan is a very good monitor, its for gaming, has a 2ms response time, HDMI and DVI but I didn't check about the jack for speakers.

Aria.co.uk have the 23" Dell UltraSharp U2311H for £199 with free delivery.

I'm not sure if it has all the stuff you want, the specs can be found here. I've ordered one today so I'm not 100% sure about it's gaming performance.
