Talking How will a ATI Radeon™ HD 5450 1GB run WoW?

With this GPU on a 1920 by 1080 resolution, and the rest of my system which is listed below, on what kind of graphics will it run WoW? (Sounds like an essay question!) I am planning on buying a better one when I get the money.

    AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black, Deneb Core, S AM3, 3.2GHz, 8MB Cache, HT 3600MHz, 125W, Retail

    Asus M4A78LT-M, AMD 760G, AM3, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), DDR3 1600/1800, SATA 3Gb/s RAID, Micro ATX, VGA

500W Coolermaster Elite Power Power Supply (PSU)

    500GB Samsung HD502HJ Spinpoint F3, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 16MB Cache, 8.9 ms, NCQ, OEM

    4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 Classic, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.50V

Inwin Griffin, Black, Mid Tower Gaming Case, with Side Window & 22" Side Silent Fan, w/o psu

    OS: Windows 7

    Thanks for the help.

Your going to have to turn a lot of stuff off/down in the graphics options. The 5450 is more at home decoding blurays than running games.

Even a GT430 or a HD5670 is going to struggle at that resolution, both of which are significantly faster then a 5450.

What shaithis said, and what I and others said.

Also, see X-bit labs and Tom's Hardware for benchmarks.

Re: How will a ATI Radeon™ HD 5450 1GB run WoW?

As has been said, No not really, might be able to get away with it at low resolution & low settings.

As this is a planned build, I'd up it, no need to go crazy though, I'd say an nvidia gts450 or ati 5750 (AFAIK the 6750 is the same card) going to a max of a 6850 or gtx460

If you need to save money and don't mind 2nd hand then look for a gts250, 9800gtx+, ati 4870, 4850 (dual slot cooler version) you should be able to get one around £50-60 or less

Re: How will a ATI Radeon™ HD 5450 1GB run WoW?

You can get an HD5850 1GB for around £110 delivered from Aria. I know that it will run WoW at 1920X1080 at high settings. However,I don't know if it is the highest settings though.

    Edit!!

An HD5770 1GB should do the job:

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ce,2793-3.html

You can get one for around £70. An HD5830 can be had for under £80 too.

The HD5830 or HD5850 look good choices IMHO and should have a bit more leeway with later releases of WoW.

Re: How will a ATI Radeon™ HD 5450 1GB run WoW?

my 5850+q9300 runs WoW 4.1 at 1920x1080 maxed out with 4xaa using DX11. As I've said before, in a heavily populated area I can get some slowdown but it's still playable and I've never had any noticeable slowdowns in raids or dungeons.
