ATI 6970 in a PCIe x16 1.0 slot

will running a 6970 in a PCIe x16 1.0 slot cause problems. I know 2.0 is backwards compatible with 1.0, but will the limited bandwith affect the card?.

effectively a 16 1.0 is a 8 x 2.0 so shouldn't be a problem.
