Recommend me a cheap gfx card with dual monitor support

hi,

i'm really getting pee'd off with waiting now. i've been building my new pc for months, but have left the gfx card til last in the hope that some of the present gfx cards would drop in price quite a lot as the next generation of cards come out. the things is, the prices just aren't dropping quick enough for my liking and i'm getting impatient. so i've decided that as it's not really going to be used for games to begin with (and just video editing) to get a cheap one for the time being.

So here's my question, what would you guys and girls recommend as the cheapest/decent graphics card around that can support 2 monitors to spread my premiere pro workspace over? using 2 17" crts so i'll need 2 analogue outputs or 1 analogue and 1 dv with an analogue convertor for it.

What is the maximum you can go to?

I would say gf4 ti4200 (my gainward's have both had DVI, CRT with a CRT to DVI converter) second hand for around £30-£50, same for 8500's i think.

now real maximum as such, i'm just looking for whatever has the best price/performance ratio at the low priced end of the market. basically nothing too much over £50 would obviously prefer something more around £30 though Just think of it as something that i wont feel is too expensive if i only end up using it for 2-3months and then upgrade to something like a 9800xt etc.. for example, and then i don't feel like i've spent too much and wasted my money on it, if it then ends up in a drawer as a back up just incase whichever new card i buy breaks on me. hope that helps. cheers

Matrox cards are the best at multi monitor. Not for gaming though.

Radeon 9200, pretty cheap and run dual monitor fine.

I had a 64mb one running 2 monitors in 1280x1024 32bit colour 85hz...

If you don't intend to play on it at all, any card with one analogue and one DVI will do I suppose? £30-£40 is really low, don't think any new card will come at that price. Second hand is probably a good way to go for a temporary card

Atomic - cool, that was more than I knew about You see, I don't come from where you come from... the pricing here in sweden is a little higher from what I've seen. Partly because of our 25% VAT.

But then it is done I'd say, if you don't need any performance for games at all, a 9200 is a good way to go... don't believe any new nvidia card will reach that low. Or will it? (this is where you come in again atomic )

Most of the nVidia cards are just above £40, nothing that comes close to that 9200.

But then the 9200 is lepoop compared to a FX5200 in performance... not even DX 9. But if you don't play any games I suppose that doesn't really matter
