Question New 24 inch monitor needed

Hey folks , hoping you can help here. My current illyama has died (rip) and I need to look at a replacement.

It is needed for work, but I also game. I rarely watch Tv or films on it.

So far I have been looking at the Dell G2410N and my budget is around £200 odd. Do folks think this is a good choice based on what I want to use it for, or are there any other suggestions worth looking at?

Thanks as always for any help or advice offered.

If you don't mind get a 23" monitor I would look at the Dell U2311H.

Thanks Cat, that's a top tip, and one that had snuck under my radar. I use a 24" ultrasharp at work and they are gorgeous monitors, but had figured they would be too expensive. Thats not bad value at £143 from a couple of sites I can see.

You should check out the BenQ EW2430 or EW2420. They are VA panel monitors, they offer native 3000:1 contrast ratio which will definately surpass most e-IPS in picture quality, black levels and contrast. It has smooth AG coating and LED backlighting. Most impressively they are sold at affordable prices compared to mid-range & high-end IPS panels. They have wide viewing angles, and numerous port connectors. It comes with 2 hdmi ports and all the rest. Also 4 USB ports. The speakers on this unit are okay. The only 1 drawback is that if you FPS game heavily this isn't the monitor you want because it has slower response time. However if FPS is not your thing then definately give it a look!
    Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz, 2 GB DDR2, 500GB SATA-II 7200RPM, nVidia GeForce 9800GT 512mb, BenQ E2200 HD, BenQ G2412HD, Logitech S510 Wireless set, Creative GigaWorks T3 Speakers.

I'm on the same boat. Looking to purchase 24" with a £150 (ex VAT) budget. I'm a system administrator working with e-mail clients, SSH, browsing.

I Followed Cats advice and went with the Dell U2311H, it's been impressive, if you're budget can stretch to it, would heartily recommend it.

The U2311H seems to be quite hard to get hold off now but is a fantastic monitor.

    Here are some other suggestions:
