    Cool Sapphire 6950 2GB... unlock to 6970?

Is it true that this graphics card can be unlocked to a 6970?? I heard that this is no longer possible in recent models of the 6950. Is this also true?

I also heard that unlocking the sapphire 6950 is pretty low risk due as you can easily revert back to the 6950 bios by flicking a switch?? Would you guys recommend it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

As long as you have a second card that you can install at the same time as the card you want to flash, then you have a get-out clause.

You can even make a bootable USB with an autoexec.bat that will re-flash it even though there is no display. Dual-bios just makes it easier but it is not really necessary.

Friend just got an Asus DirectCU II and it will not unlock, it was never going to last forever .
