    6850 VGA all straightforward?

    Hey up,

Probably a daft question, but thought it might be worth checking before buying:

I'll be getting a 6850 in a couple of weeks but will have to plug into a VGA monitor. Only one of the DVI ports will work for VGA I think, which is fine - I only want one. But all I need is a plain, cheapo DVI-VGA convertor? Is that right?

Are there any other potential issues with VGA worth knowing about? The internets seems to say no, only people who were hoping to run 2 VGA monitors finding that one of the two ports was digital DVI only.

    Cheers,

    Dan

Should be fine. Some cards come with the adaptor in the box, some don't. Last person who asked me this question I suggested they buy an adaptor to save inconvenience & postage costs if the card didn't come with one, and it turned out cheaper to buy a 1.5m long DVI to VGA monitor cable than the stubby adaptor so they ended up with a neater solution too.

In case anyone is interested, that was ebuyer, and the card didn't come with adaptor so it was just as well she bought the cable.

Cheers all. Nother question: XFX or Sapphire for the 6850? I hear XFX are noisier but cooler...? And also have a lifetime warranty...
