    6850: sapphire vs xfx noise?

    Hey up,

I'm deciding between this xfx 6850 and this Sapphire.

I really want the quieter of the two since I work all day on this machine. The internets seem to think the XFXs are noisy as hell - is that still the case? Does anyone have any experience of either of those two?

    Thanks again...

I know it's a few pounds more, but can personally vouch for the Asus model (with what they call a 'Direct Cu' HSF):

Mine is in a quiet machine, replacing a passively cooled previous graphics card, and literally added zero noise to the system (from me sitting about 2 foot away from the desktop machine)

Hmm, it's only a tenner more, reckon I could stretch to that. Cheers.

Not very well disposed to Sapphire: I have to underclock my current sapphire 4670, from 750 down to 715mhz, to stop it from crashing!
