    New Card and Power Supply?

I need some help looking for a new graphics card as mine bit the dust. I only have a Corsair 450W PSU that has +33 amps on the single 12V rail. I know I can't run a high end card with this and don't want to replace it. I was looking at the Radeon HD 5770 1GB. Is this about the best I can do with my current power supply?

What are the specifications of the rest of your system??

    What case do you have??

What is your graphics card budget??

Do you have a VX450W or an HX450W??

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, my system is several years old and a budget one really. My CPU is only E6600 2.4ghz dual core, 2GB RAM, 2 hard drives, and a CD drive. I have a HP tower case and I have the VX 450W PSU. My graphics budget is under $225. I figured that my CPU would limit my graphics card anyhow so a high end card wouldn't benefit my anyhow right? I just want to be able to play most games on medium settings and I would be happy. My 8800GT just went and it really wasn't cutting it for the newer games like Witcher 2, Deus Ex-Human Revolution, and FEAR 3. Will I be able to play these games with a mid level card like the 5770 ATI?

I would look at adding another 1Gb to 2GB of RAM.

If you are looking to upgrade your motherboard,CPU and RAM in the near future I would get an HD6870:

This GTX460 768MB looks good for the price and is faster than an HD5770 or HD6770:

However, the GTX460 does have issues with some motherboards so I would check if your one will work fine.

Your VX450W should be fine with both these cards AFAIK.

Re: New Card and Power Supply?

If the OP saved up some more money they could get a new motherboard,CPU and RAM.

A Core i3 2100,a basic H67 motherboard with 4 RAM slots and 4GB of 1333MHZ RAM will cost around $233:

The GTX460 768MB has a $50 rebate which you need to send off to receive.

Of course you need either a retail copy of Windows or a new OEM copy.
