Am a little disapointed with this... I was expecting at LEAST 8 pipelines with the midrange card this time round.... Ohh well...

You recon that would be faster than say a 9800pro?

Don't think it will be any faster than a 9800Pro.

    4 pipelines vs 8 for the 9800pro
128bit memory bue vs 256bit for the 9800pro

It actually looks very much like a 9600Pro/XT with a PCIExpress interface.

Yeah... that makes the X800 the only good new gaming card from ATi, and they don't come for free as we've noticed by now

I wouldn't go that low for almost any gaming machine.. unless it's REALLY cheap. But I can't see why any PCI Express part would be sold that cheap, atleast not to begin with.

12GB/s bandwidth for 128 bit memory... don't know how to count the clock speeds, but I think that makes about 850-900MHz. It's fast for a midrange card, but with 128-bit interface it won't do wonders anyways. Guess the core is more important though... And well, only time can tell.
