    6800/x800..What should I Buy?

Oh I do like a heated debate, so here goes.

I'm going to upgrade shortly to either an FX6800GT or Ultra or an x800 XT

But which one??? I cant decide, so I'll let you lot decide for me.
Let's hear your arguments/recomendations chaps, I value your opinion.

    *edit*
Yes, I know that option 4 should be X800XT PE, d'oh!

The trouble is there arent many reviews of the final retail versions yet are there? so i would advise waiting until we see a definitive answer on which is the best card to buy.

At the moment i like the look of the x800xt though theres a 'platinum edition' of that on the way thats even better than that, isnt there always a better model in the pipeline.

x800xt has the performance crown at the moment i think but that could well change if the new features of the 6800ultra are utilised and if new drivers yield such an increase in performance, 30%?

Its probably best to wait a couple of weeks and see how things are when the dust settles.

I agree that we should wait, see how drivers turn out, and how well the final versions do in reviews. Thst 30% increase in performance would be pretty good, but it might be at the cost of other things, like image quality.

At the moment I'll be going for the 800XT, but I'm not gonna bother until HL2 or Doom3 are out. I made the mistake of going out and buying my 9800Pro so that I could play HL2, that's getting on for a year ago now

I'll just watch the results of this thread as im in a similar position as 0iD. Found a BIG (35 pages) review of the X800XT PE Vs. the 6800 Ultra (lost the link now ) ..... On the graphs, 6800 was better on some, and the X800XT was better on others. So, i think its what you want it for. To me,(from the review) both are as good as each other. I'd get whichever. Im off to go flip a coin...heads GeForce.....Tails Radeon.
