    3D Mark 03

    I've never done a 3DMark test before.
I'm about to do so using 3DMark 03.
Soon I will see exactly how low my computer rates .....

    Ahem

"Your computer cannot run any game test of 3DMark 03

Please install 3DMark 2001 for more comprehensive benchamarking."

Well that was a bit of a downer.

    Components So Far:
    XFX Geforce MX 4000 128mb
"SumEvision" (Who the hell are they) Multi channel PCI Sound card.
Standard 56K Modem that I'll probably never use.
Case with a bit missing but it's only superficial.

LOL. Your graphics card is a Geforce 4 MX. That is the problem. It is basically a Geforce 2 core, and that was a DX7 card. You need at least a DX8 part to attempt 3DMark 03.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

I havn't used the MX 4000 yet. It's still in it's box waiting for the rest of the new parts.
This was a test on an Intel 810e chipset.

lmao, Well neither of them will run 3D mark 03 i think

If the MX4000 is a DX7 card then doesn't that mean it won't run 3D Mark 01 either? Not sure, i thought 01 was a DX 8 test.

Ive got a GeForce MX440 and it runs 3DMark 2001 SE. Although some tests don't run I'm still able to get a mark.

    i thought 01 was a DX 8 test
the car/lobby tests are dx7, but the nature test requires pixel shader which is a DX8 thingy

lol, i just got 5600 on 3D mark.
Shows you how much '03 relies on DX9 (and DX8 IIRC)

    Lol
I was just pointing out the emphasis DX 8 and 9 have on '03.
    Was only a passing comment

It's a damn good thing I'm building a new PC.
I'm absolutely sick of this piece of junk.
The plan was to take the HD from this and put it in my new one to make this easier but it's just contracted a trillion viruses from somewhere so I've gotto wipe it before I do anything else with it.
Anyways, I have the MX 4000 for my new PC but as soon as I've got everything else (and I'm intending on making it as high spec as I can comfortabely afford) I'm going to try for that Radeon 9800 Pro or at least soemthing nearer that than the MX 4000.

You stuck on the eMachines band wagon aswell. I bought a machine off them about a year ago (before I even knew what Hexus was!) and I thought it was fine. Come upgrade time, they only gave me a board with AGP 4X which sucks Gonna have to get a new mobo when I upgrade.
A 9800 Pro is a good choice, i've got one, and i've already got it at XT speeds and i'm just about to push it further
Used to have a 440Mx but I replaced it with a 9800 Pro

I'm so excited about this PC.
It'll be the frst machine I've built but I can't start for about 2 weeks when my Dad is giving me some huge loans to buy parts.
One thing I've got to insist on (There's a friend of the family helping me out and I have to maintain control of the project) is a fairly up to date mobo and a CPU around 2.0ghz.
Anyone got any cluse as to how much that'll cost at a place like a Computer Fair.

bleh ive said this before but i'll bring it up again, i rekon nvidia and its partners should be really slated for the way that the GF4MX cards were marketed. They were marketed as gaming cards, for gamers; yet they can barely cope with most games from last year - let alone this years. They wont even run Splinter cell pandora tomorrow! Thousands of people bought them and have to put up with performance no better than (and in many cases worse than ) a GF3 - and can't afford to upgrade to a h alfway decent card. Its just one thing that really angers me

I'm not thinking it would cost alot. A brand new P4 2.8C costs you around £130 at the moment so the equivalent p4 would be fairly cheap. AMD's would be even cheaper aswell.
