MSI GTX 570/580 Twin FrozR II vs FrozR III

I've had a poke around online, and seen details about how the FrozR III is a better cooling solution and has more voltage regulator modules (i.e. the II is a reference board with better cooling whereas the III is actually a better than reference board). Thing is, how much of a difference does it actually make? I found forum posts on other forums where people were talking about overclocking the card and how if you weren't intending to the FrozR II was perfectly fine. I thought these cards came factory overclocked? Are people talking about pushing them even further than their factory overclocked spec, or do you need to run some MSI software and overclock them yourself to get them to the on-box stated speeds?

I was pondering a GTX 570. I noticed that Scan had a FrozR III 570 for £311 (http://tinyurl.com/crmc2sp), which is basically the most expensive possible 570 1280MB. Then I noticed that for only £40 more I could get a FrozR II 580 (http://tinyurl.com/bp35fkh). Amazingly, that's the cheapest 580 on Scan. I assume it's been knocked down in price to get rid of stock so they can start selling the FrozR III version. So the question is, is the FrozR II 580 worth the extra £40 over a newer but lower end card if i'm not planning to overclock whichever one I get beyond what it comes as? Bearing that in mind, is it even worth me getting a FrozR card or should I save a further £40 or so and get something like the Palit GTX 570 (http://tinyurl.com/d96e64c)? I'm planning on upgrading the rest of my system for a Core i5 2500k in a couple of months so i'm wanting something that will give me better graphics performance *now* but be even better when I combine it with that.

    Get the 580.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

The MSI GTX 580 Lightning uses the FrozR III but slightly more expensive.

Personally I would just get a cheaper 570 at around £250.
