TFT / LCD For gaming ?

    I currently got a 19" CRT - LG Flatron 915FT Plus.

However it takes up too much space and I want one of them 20.1" TFTs with a 16ms Response time.

Anyone got any recommendations? Also linkages to sites that sell them.

So far I have found the following:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...roductID=95541 20.1" Iiyama TFT Black PLE511S-B

    http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=10455 20" Dell TFT 2001FP - Is this 16ms?

The bezel must be silver or black, response time must be 16ms and the top res must be 1600x1200. Do LG sell one in this range? 20.1" 16ms response?

    So any ideas ?

I have a Viewsonic vp171s and LOVE it. I had a 19" Sony Trinitron before this and I do not miss it at all. This monitor has a 16ms response and is great for gamming. I am considering the 20 inch model but a grand is too much for it.

Aah no I like using the Scan credit. Did it on my last upgrade and now got enough money to pay it off (and that was £1500). So now I just do their 10 months interest free and save up enough to pay it off

To be honest I hold THG in very low regard and never visit there. Anything read there has to be taken with a very large pinch of salt.

I've heard good things about the Iiyama, plus it's a native res of 1600x1200 over the Dell's 1280x1024 ... far too used to the 1600x1200+ res on my Iiyama 454 to go any lower.

Damn your right, I thought the Dell one was 1600x1200 native, but its max! Nice catch.

Go with the iiyama, it's a very fine monitor and very good value for money for a 20.1". I paid more than that for a 19" iiyama 4821 less than a year ago - mind you it has a higher contrast ratio, powered USB hub, pivot facility with software....

Yeah, I'd have to go with Alan on that one....not the Iiyama bit, but the quality of his 19" Iiyama. Although the 20"+ screens are coming down in price, I'm waiting around 'till I get as many features as possible....

That viewsonic review put up by ed says some pretty impressive things too....unusual to hear the word 'perfect' in any review these days (or was that just the overal impression I got from the article)...

Well today I bit the bullet and ordered the Dell 2001 FP, from a very nice (hopefully, its not arrived yet) american feller called Jeff on eBay @ £579.99. So not a bad price really Thats including delivery from the states and a dead pixel check.

Fingers crossed, I will reported back when (if) it arrives

    aaah hah !

Forgot to update, my Dell 2001FP arrived and its damned excellent. Only one single dead pixel in an out of the way spot that I can only see when there is a very dark screen image.

However my mate who also ordered from the same guy and arrived at the same time wrapped together wasnt so lucky:

The ebay seller is being very good tho and is replacing it, he is also investigating why Dell said originally the warrenty was valid yet when we rang Dell they said they cannot do anything. He is also going to pay for the shipping back to him.
