I would probably get a new PSU. Powercool are not that great. Also, you cannot overclock on an H61 based motherboard - I would have gone with the slightly cheaper Core i5 2500.

Wasn't too sure about the psu, but the price was right at the time of purchase.
As for the 2500k unlocked it was only £165 and the 2500 was £162 so i thought it would be the best choice as mobo's are cheap and easily replaced when cash aint so tight ;-)

    What about GPU's tho????

Providing you get a reasonable PSU,I would suggest a GTX560 or HD6870. The HD6870 does consume less power at load than a GTX560.

Thanks for your advice CAT-THE-FIFTH, I'll look into getting another PSU and return the powercool, problem is i already need a psu for my own rig as my Antec 750w Truepower psu blew yesterday and is gonna set me back another £100, I wonder if i can get a deal on 2?

As for the gpu i had already considered the ati hd6870, as my Nvidia cards run very hot, thanks again m8

You should get a warranty replacement for your Antec. It is meant to be a decent PSU(made by Seasonic).

This PSU does get good reviews from websites such as JonnyGuru:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/550w-...s-12v-queit-fa

    http://www.ebuyer.com/264509-ocz-zs-...-ocz-zs550w-uk

It should be plenty for an HD6870 1GB. If you get 20 posts on Hexus you can get free postage on Scan orders over £24.

Baz... what CAT says is key and bang on...

Personally I'd drop the video card to a £50 job and but a proper PSU.. then you can upgrade the graphics card when you have the cash while the PSU will last waaay longer.

(PS: killing an Antec is pretty unusual. .. they are v good, so don't let it put you off them)

If you are still looking for a new PSU I would reccomend the Corsair AX750, very nice, very nice indeed.

    PSU Scan product code: LN33942

Re: Need Advice on which GPU to purchase?

i know its too late now but personally i used this chart to figure out what to buy recently

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ce,2997-7.html

Ended up buying a 560 ti at a reasonable price of £155 ish. Bought a 4870 of of ebay beforehand and even though according to the chart its more powerful I found out it doesn't run direct x 11 (not sure how important that is tbh) and more importantly sounded like a bloody jet engine. I can barely hear my 560 ti, very happy with it
