    Need a new GPU...help me out :)

Right......I current have a second system that my daughter has that runs a GTX260. Its fine and running most things, but she wants some of these new games (SKYRIM for starters), and I need an upgrade.
its been a few years since i last did major overhauls, and I am right behind with the 'latest and greatest' now.

I would prefer nvidia, and I have NO IDEA where things are moving these days.

Can i get a decent upgrade for £100-130?

If so....links would be highly appreciated.

A GTX 260 is fine for Skyrim - no need to upgrade there.

If she's into BF3 however you might need a new card.

For around £130-140 the gtx560 (non-ti) is the best bet

But yes a gt260 should be fine for skyrim, it worked great for me on FO3 & new vegas @ 1680x1050, which is the same graphics engine AFAIK

Yeah, I want to buy one two, I mean which people mostly likes ATI Radeon or from NVIDIA, which one is best for soccer gaming, love to read responses. And what is the relation between graphics card power uses, is it means we have to upgrade our PSU with the up-gradation of graphics cards.

Either depending on which is the best value for your budget; to my knowledge football games are not very taxing and you should go by the reccomended specs on your game. Please visit comparison sights like anadtech GPU comparison or toms' hardware's best card for the money.

With regards to your PSU, it will depend on what you have and what card you are going to buy and how much more power (or less) than your current card.

Use this chart for comparison of the most powerful cards. With all the dodgy numbers behind the names being misleading (especially ati) its invaluable. For example you might make the mistake of thinking the ati 6870 is more powerful then the ati 5870, not so.

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ce,2997-7.html

Bear in mind the ati cards are generally more noisy i think although i'm only basing this on the 4870 which was the noisiest card i've ever had and can imagine. My recommendation would be to go for the 560 ti. Shop around and you can possibly get it for £160, i got mine for £155 but it seems to have gone up in price.

Paul, sadly that's not really right:
Lets face facts, a 4870 came with lots of coolers, so mine was silent. Toxic version.

I had a 460 nvidia and the fan was deafening.

and now I have a 6950 Frozer thingy and it's nice and quiet even gaming.

Blitz.... frankly I'd but the game for her, stick it through the GTX260 and see how it is. Might be better byuing her something else.. and only getting the card if it needs it.

yea like i said i only based that on my 4870x2 which must've had a bog standard cheaper cooler. My asus 560ti atm has the direct cuII cooler which is really really quiet.
