£269. Strongly considered the 7950 but couldn't justify the price difference. It's still 10 days away from being shipped though, so if the 7950 drops significantly further I can cancel. But I don't think it will until nVidia release a competing card.

I am thinking of the GTX680 at around £400,and how much it would affect the HD7900 series. An HD7950 price drop would push the HD7870 price downwards too.

But surely the only way that could be interesting is if the GTX 680 wins, which i'd be very doubtful it would - its already close in the 2560 x 1600p from what we've seen.

The numbers for the HD6000 and HD7000 series AMD cards seem all over the place compared to this review:

In some instances they are much faster than before and others much slower.

I don't think much of the validity of the Tom's results anyway, as the guy quoted in that HF post says, the results look very skewed. I'm not implying anything about the performance of the 680, but the 7970 is shown to perform incredibly poorly vs existing cards...
