Right,

It appears that this was exactly the problem I was having,

TV Tool has solved all the problems an the pc is now working fine. In fact I'm using it now. Pity I've just bought an ATI 8500 AIW to fix the problem then.

Oh well.

Well having owned both of those cards and now a 9800pro the radeons tv out/in/tuner quality will be far superior to the gf2s.
