    256MB Connect X800 XT @£320 - in stock

    http://www.lowestonweb.com/Products/...D-9471944D6A0C

Sod it. I'm going for one of these unless anyone here can tell me a reason not to - seems a great price, and I've struggled to find anyone with stock until now! I couldn't afford £275 for the X800 Pro and I can't afford this, but you only live once

    £320 X800XT Plat, in stock?

Bit of a jump on the other sites, with their £340-£360 prices and 'Out of Stock' tags.

How aren they getting stock others can't and undercuting them by 40 odd quid?

Anyone ordered from Lowest on Web before?

    Argh! Out of stock!!

I've bought from them before twice, no problems yet. In fact, I had next day delivery even after taking the free option.

Looks like they just went out of stock, just as I go to place my order. That's just cruel.

alot of people are canceling their XT orders and ordering the PRO instead. It seems that club 3d PRO's can easily be modded in to fully fledged XT's enabling all 16 pipelines.
have a read of this http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=22637 also http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33766704 and here http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...5&pagenumber=1
    pretty high success rate.

True, i hadn't looked at the prices of the cards, thought it was going to be another uber deal. Not sure if I would risk it for £50.

Yeah but you know that not all Club Pro cards aren't ViVo plus not all cards are modding to XT speeds, these chips are Pro chips for a reason guys. Rather you than me, after all you dont know if it will full xt speeds and how long it will last at that new configuration. After all there has to be a reason why they down graded these chips I dont think it will be because the Pro is in higher demand since XT stocks are like gold and everyone is hunting for one.

£50 extra for a XT is very cheap compared to the 9800 Pro - XT price gap, so its a bargain to me

So you are welcome to fry, cook and bios wipe your lovely pro

yeah buts if fine and dandy now m8, but now long is it going to last? its not designed to run as a XT chip after all. Dont get me wrong m8, it is up to you after all. Just dont think its wise, considering that a XT costs only £30-50 more.

But I hope yours lasts for you

It will last as long as a normal XTPE, coz thats what it is. You only degrade the life of something that significantly when you walk down the road of volt mods...

I haven't seen any official notice from Club or ATI saying that their Pro chips are XT chips, have you?

These may be XT chips, yeah. But there is a reason why they only get used for Pro cards. I don’t think ATI would down grade premium GPU's just to sell them. I think this due to the shortage of XT based cards on the market. It just doesn't make sense, maybe they would down grade them to Pro’s when the stocks are established and market orders shift. But I cant see them doing that for a while due to the newness of these cards.

These Pro/XT GPU's sound like failed XT chips re-badged as Pro chips, but that is only my view on the matter.

All this mod does is unlock the extra 4 pipelines.Giving it all 16 pipelines as the x800xt has.The "failed XT's" have their bridges cut so they can't be modded unless you rejoin the bridges of course. This mod is software based. Please correct me if I'm wrong dudes.

Indeed these have been crippled at the factory by a bios flash, I think ATI probably had a batch where all 16 pipes were intact but when it got to the vendor (Club3D in my case) they tested and found that they couldnt all do XT speeds so disabled 4 pipes and clocked it down to sell as a pro.
