    Watercooling a 7870

    Hey all

anyone know if a 7970 full cover waterblock will fit a 7870 such as the £286 sapphire card that you can preorder on scan?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I would very much doubt it as they are different lenth cards for start.

    7850/70 is 9.5 inch long
    7950 is 11 inch long

Yeah thats kinda what I figured but I wasn't sure if the heatsink around the cpu and ram was the the same or not. Wishful thinking but you never know!

Will keep an eye out to see if/when a 7870 specific block appears

    Re: Watercooling a 7870

Just as an update for anyone that's interested I looked at the EK cooling configurator and they say that a 7870 block is 'coming soon' so hopefully it won't be too long

    Re: Watercooling a 7870

It certainly won't fit. You can fit the same waterblock on identical(or almost) pcb's. For example, you can fit a 480 block to an evga 560ti 448 cores classified, as they are based on the same pcb.

The card you're looking for is pretty new, and not categorised as performance grade, so waterblocks will take some time to come out.
