I always find sapphire cards are extremely reliable in speed, heat and noise. So i would suggest either of their cards on there. If you know how to overclock graphics cards get the normal sapphire edition as the 7800 series are very overclockable. If you do not know how to overclock get the OC edition if you have an extra £10 in your pocket
Also their sapphire 7850 and 7870 cards came in stock today so hopefully no fear of them running out of stock!
okay i will get the msi/sapphire card when does the msi one come in stock do you know?
and shall i get a 7850 or a nvidia 570?
and yes i can overclock
Or a 560ti?
i have looked it up and the 7850 if you overclock it to the max (core clock - 1050mhz) and the (memory clock 1400mhz) it will equal a 580.
can you overclock anymore or is that the max?
I suspect you could overclock it more, thats what the manufacturers are clocking the 7870's to at the moment but as long as you can cool it and you know what you're doing I would be surprised if you can't clock it past that.
The msi one probably sold out being a hot seller so they would want to get new stock in soon...i would say buy a sapphire 7850 stock and then overclock it to where your comfortable with.
thats what iv done hope its here tomorrow
and hope it cools better than msi.
They are both dual fans with heatpipes with very little differences so cooling i guess will basically be exact the same as each other
7850 isnt worth the money, same as 560 ti 448 cores isnt worth the money. id sooner buy 560 ti standard or a 6870
560ti's are good as are 78's and 79's if its in your budget but I'd wait another few weeks to a month and go from there!
7850 is so worth it iv managed to overclock it to 1200mhz stable 24/7 overclock
I've had 2 or 3 Sapphire cards over the years, and only ever upgraded due to newer spec, or a complete rebuild.
They've always been perfectly reliable, so there'd have to be a really good reason not to buy one
-- AMD dual core 5000 CPU -- GeForce 7050M mobo -- 2 x 2Gb Kingston DDR2 PC5200 memory -- Winpower ATX650L PSU -- ### -- Sunbeam 4 way Rheobus with red/blue LEDs -- ...in the process of being updated April 2012
The gtx690 if you had enough.
But realicky wait for the gtx 660 to come out that will be affordable and very powerful and the same time not very power hungry
If your screen is 1080p (or better) then just make sure you have 2GB VRAM on a new card as more and more games will chew over 1.5GB at 1080p (Skyrim with MOD's, SS3 are recent examples, BF3 ultra + HD texture pack) all the cards over £150 can do "FPS" but some are now VRAM limited and that can result in the game engine scaling the world-textures or shadows down for lesser looks. So personally I recommend either the AMD or Nvidia 28nm cards as they have so many benefits over the older cards and one of the main ones is VRAM + run cooler +superior 3d support for films tv and games and need way less powerful PSU's.
