Radeon 9800-Pro make?

hi all i wanted to know if you was buying a 9800 pro what make of card would u go for? and why please

list...

Well I have the Connect 3D 9800Pro in my system, made up with it. I've read that Powercolor come slightly overclocked as standard.....but if you want to overclock further it wont budge. I have a Sapphire 9600xt in my 2nd system which I'm also very happy with. As for the other makes you have stated I cant really comment on. Whichever card you go for they are all gonna be decent at stock speeds anyway, but if you plan on overclockin further get yourself an ice cooler and clock away ( my connect 3d with an ice cooler clocks past a 9800 xt ) Just dont get a powercolor if you plan on overclocking. Hope this helps mate :)

Personally, I would buy the cheapest. They are all basically the same except for their cooling solutions. I have a Sapphire Atlantis in my main machine.

Yup, they're pretty much all made by the same company (Foxxcon?), you'll only get a very slight variation between units :)

thx for the posts still dont know witch make to go for tho lol, tho sapphire seems to be the 1,

also are the Arctic Cooling REV3 VGA Silencer easy to put on?

They are fairly easy- it can be a bit fiddly. Get a rev 1 for a 9800pro. Same cooling ability and i found it easy to install :)

i like my herc card =) stuck an arctic cooler rev3 on it and its now flashed to XT =) no artifacts

Wasn't there a problem with sapphire radeon 9800 pro's only having having 128 bit memory and not 256 bit?

Yep, its not a problem though. It's what they are, and they are labelled. Just be carefull.

Well yes, but in relation to the 9800 Pro, I have no idea (I have never used or compared a 128 bit to a 256 bit 9800 Pro, or any graphics card). But in theory, anything that has 128 bits compared to 256 is half as fast, and has half the bandwidth. But in a Graphics card I doubt the memory is shifting enough data continuously to make use of even a 128 bit memory architecture.
