I'm considering buying either an Iiyama E430 (£290) or the H430 (£360).
The only major difference between the two are the fact that the E430 doesn't have DVI. (And the fact that one has speakers and a USB1.1 hub, but we're ignoring those, they're both useless. Lol)
Now onto my question... Is DVI that much better than Analogue, to warrant spending that much more?
Or is the difference minimal?

If you use a DVI TFT i would imagine it means that your RAMDAC on your graphics card won't have to be used. DVI is digital whereas analogue is analogue and i think in the 21st century we've all come to realise that digital wins ;)
iirc you get higher quality picture out of DVI
The DVI picture will be a lot sharper, if you run the monitor at it's maximum resolution, and has the advantage of auto-adjusting the picture to fit the monitor screen.
IMO, it's not worth getting a TFT monitor if you're going to run it via analogue.
Using DVI should always get you a higher picture quality, but will not always be a that big difference. Check for reviews, I've seen some monitors that have produced about identical image quality using their DVI vs. VGA ports...
dvi is def. better
i only have a little samsung monitor but the improvement with dvi was great.
get the e431s - has dvi, and is pretty cheap
Which shops that sell the H430 offer a No Dead Pixel guarantee?
dvi lcd monitors are classed as televisions and hence go in a higher tax bracket (14% afaik) than standard dsub-only lcd/crt monitors.
Howard get a LG L1710B. Very good with dvi and vga (both can be plugged in at the same time and switched using the source button) and it only set me back 280. No ghosting aswell :)

ah rite, i have a Dell 17" Analogue and i've only had to press the auto button once.
I have both DVI and Analogue on my 19" Iiyama TFT, and the can switch between the two by a press of a button. Got one PC on DVI and the other on analogue, both near identical GFX cards, and the difference in clarity is immediate.....DVI wins hands down.
Yep I have been using LCD as my main monitors for at home over 3 years now, had various Samsung and Iiyama and DVI wins hands down. Much better picture quality, less configuring, sharper etc.
Go for the E431S it has a better spec and isn't much more expensive IIRC. Got mine for £312 about 3 months ago.
I have a D-dub/DVI moniter, and as soon as a switch to d-sub the picture becomes blured
- not so noicable in games, but with windows, word and especially winamp3 its noicablely less crisp (winamp3 the small text is almost elegable)
As we all know! I have a dell 2001fp... The D-sub is.... well, crap! The DVI is great! But, when I use the DVI I cant even adjust half of the setings! But by all means the DVI is the way to go!!!! :devilish:
