Possible details of the GTX670 and GTX660

It seems there are no sub £200 Kepler cards for the time being:

    http://www.techpowerup.com/165033/Re...-Pictured.html

    http://www.techpowerup.com/165034/Th...-Detailed.html

It seems the GTX670 will be around $399 to $429 and will have a 950MHZ base clockspeed and has 7 out of the 8 SMX units of the GTX680. The GTX660 will have a 192 bit memory controller,24 ROPS and 6 out of the 8 SMX units of the GTX680.

This is good news. I hope they keep the 680 reference leaf blower style cooler on the 670 and 660 I don't like blowing all that hot air back inside the case would rather get it straight out the back.

Re: Possible details of the GTX670 and GTX660

On OcUK,Gibbo hinted the 7 SMX card would be around £300,and said that the GTX660 was 6 months away.

Hence,I suspect the cards are the GTX670TI and GTX670.

Would be nice to see how these stack up against the other cards on the market, I'm trying to get the best performance I can for no more then £350!

Re: Possible details of the GTX670 and GTX660

NVIDIA would be launching two new GK104 SKU’s in May which would be known as the GeForce GTX 670 and GTX 660 Ti, Final specifications of both graphic cards have been leaked along with the first reference PCB design of GTX 670.

We posted specifications of both cards earlier today which are spot on with the newly acquired information. The GTX 670 would be a toned down GK104 with one of its SMX unit disabled packing 1344 Cuda Cores, 112 TMUs, 32ROPs and a 2GB 256bit memory. The core clock would be maintained at 950MHz and 1002MHz Boost Clock, Memory would be maintained at 6GHz Effective at 192GB/s bandwidth. Now one thing we also mentioned that the PCB length would be reduced, its correct. As you can see the following pic, Power phases have been re aligned and the dual 6 Pin connectors are also moved to the front while ditching the stacked design.

There’s only one SLI connector meaning a total of two cards can be coupled together and display outputs include dual DVI and a single HDMI, Specifically this card matches the design of the GeForce GTX 560Ti. Price would be set at $399.

The other card which got leaked is that GTX 660Ti, Another GK104 product with lots of stuff scraped out such as a complete Graphics processor cluster totaling at 6 SMX’s, 1152 Cores, 96 TMU’s, 24 ROPs and a 1536MB 192-bit wide memory interface. Core clock runs at 1006MHz and boost clock is maintained at 1056MHz while memory runs at 6GHz effective.

A 150W TDP suggests that the card would require a single 6 pin connector and additional power from PCI-e slot, The PCB on this card would be even shorter and match around the GTS 450/430. Price would be set at $249. Hopefully we would see the announcement of these cards today while NDA officially lifts on 7th May 2012.

Interesting...would like to get a new GPU further down the line (6-9months away) so the GTX660 may be something that would fit my budget (i hope lol)

Looking good, should push HD7800 prices down hopefully, specifically the HD7870, perhaps the HD7950 too?

Interesting to see the price when they sell, might be better off getting one of them instead of GTX680.

Re: Possible details of the GTX670 and GTX660

Hmmm... I'd be put off the 660Ti/670 (depending on naming, 3rd tier card) if it only had 192-bit, 1.5GB VRAM. I think I'd go 7870 for the 2GB, despite missing out on TXAA and PhysX

Re: Possible details of the GTX670 and GTX660

Yeah the 660Ti is average mainly due to the low VRAM, I'll definitely go for the 680/670 (whatever I can get my hands on first), here's hoping for a mid-may release on 670.

Was hoping they'd be released before the 690.

Re: Possible details of the GTX670 and GTX660

Well Charlie says they have bad yield problems once again, in which case just like the Fermi 480 derived stuff I expect we can see a few of these cut down cards to harvest the bad die, and no real availability until they fix the underlying silicon.

    http://semiaccurate.com/2012/05/01/w...ergk104gtx680/

Basic Keplar design seems sound, pity if they messed up the execution again.

Re: Possible details of the GTX670 and GTX660

Here's what we know so far.

    Release date - 10th May.

    Reference specs

Overclocked version specs (e.g. Gigabyte Windforce OC)

Afterburner graph showing extra core boost when overclocked

    Pictures

    Reference cards

As many of you know already the reference card will use a shorter pcb, as seen on this POV card.

    Overclocked / non-reference cards

Pictures of the Gigabyte Windforce 3X OC

It's my opinion that all OC cards will probably use the GTX 680 pcb, there might be a few with the shorter pcb using non-reference coolers but I doubt they will be pre-overclocked. But you never know.

    Prices

Obviously no confirmed prices yet. But as Gibbo has said they'll be over £300. I've seen a few Euro prices & UK ones, so I expect some retailer at launch to have the Gigabyte Windforce 3X OC at £370 top price. Between £340 to £370 at launch for OC'd cards. Reference cards I think will be £310 at minimum, Palit, POV cards etc. I'd be shocked if there was any under £300 at launch, but it would be crushing for ATI and a superb move from Nvidia. As usual expect prices to flatten after a couple of weeks, and maybe we'll see something under £300 then.
