that may just tempt me to get rid of the 480's for a water cooled one of those!
Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack

The base clockspeed is much lower than a GTX680.
Way too expensive for me - will wait for 670.
Was hoping Nvidia would announce the 670, guess I'll have to wait. I don't really understand their thought process thought when they have been having issues with 28nm 680 yields and they then release a dual gpu card.
$999 !! I think I won't be buying that anytime soon haha I'll just wait for the 670 which is supposedly costing around £300
The GTX690 has a base clock of 915 and a boost of 1019. The 680 has a base clock of 1006 and a boost of 1058. The question I have is about overclocking headroom. Anandtech reckon the 680 has plenty of overclocking headroom. I expect the 690 will have less because there are more components in close prolixity, so it's harder to dissipate the heat. Wouldn't be surprised if you could easily push the base clock on a 690 to 1006. That said, there'll be some shared components so I think a 690 will use less power than 2 680s.
$999? You can get an entire gaming rig thats decent for that kind of money.
and people complained AMD were milking it oO
A thousand dollars??!
Imagine 2 of these for quad-core GPU setup.....![]()
I cant beleive the price on these, what price are the 790's going to be??? £1500!?!?!?
scan have them on pre order for a fraction under £900
Still waiting on the 670. Wish I could afford this though.
