Best value for money 28NM card so far?

I know the current 28NM cards don't seem to offer the best value for money, but I am interested to see which cards people think are best value for money ATM.

    The cards are:

    1.)GTX690 ~ £800

    Two GTX680 with a 915MHZ cores

    2.)GTX680 ~ £400

    3.)GTX670 ~ £300 to £350

    7/8 of a GTX680 with a 5% lower core clockspeed.

    4.)HD7970 ~ £350 to £400

    5.)HD7950 ~ £300 to £350

    6.)HD7870 ~ £250 to £300

    7.)HD7850 ~ £170 to £200

Seems to be a decent overclocker and can hit over 30% overclocks for the core clockspeed.

    8.)HD7770 ~ £100 to £120

    9.)HD7750 ~ £70 to £100

    Bus powered.

Re: Best value for money 28NM card so far?

I'm guessing this isn't fact based as the 7970 is still worse £/P (at both 1080p/1600) than the 680 even at its new lower price-point?

    Edit: Probably the 7870/7950.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

I don't know what the heck you are going on about?? I posted the latest prices,so I think the conspiracy is in your head. Its up to you to decide what is best, not me - sort of the whole point of a poll?? I even put in the GTX670 which is not even available yet to have more Nvidia choices but Gibbo at OcUK confirmed its pricing and that it was incoming. Since the GTX660 and HD7990 don't seem to be out for a while, these have not been added. If the GTX660 does appear in the next few weeks it will be added to poll but ATM it seems it will be a few more months.

There are 9 cards there, not two. Plenty of choices.

Eh? I was just trying to confirm this was purely based on opinion, that is, we're not going to get cut up further into the thread based on our choices.

The whole this is not "fact based" seems a rather strange thing to say.

Like I said there are 9 cards there and moreover you can vote for more than one card if you wish. If you feel there needs to be more options then I will try and get a mod to add them.

I would hope the choices would be dictated by people looking logically at their GPU needs and then choosing the card which suits their needs the best for the budget they choose. People have different usage patterns for their GPU so it means the value for money metric will differ according to the spread of games you play,so there is no such thing as a correct answer. It also depends on the resolution and whether you wish to overclock too. There are also other metrics too such as power consumption or support for certain features too(adaptive VSYNC for example).

An informed opinion is based on facts pertinant to your usage patterns.

If you were making a recommendation to other people you would be listing the strengths of weaknesses of each card in their price range anyway,so you can help them make a better informed decision based on their usage pattern. Slightly different from doing personal research for your own purchases but still a similar process overall.

It is a bit different from price/performance though. It would be interesting to see how price/performance differs from value for money.

i love the fact that noone agrees which is better vaule. personly i would say the gtx690 purly becasue its a proper SLI DUAL GPU that give 95% plus speed of a gtx680 and it uses less room and it looks so cool
